Born into a prestigious Ionian family, Zed was groomed for leadership but found himself overshadowed by his rival, Akali, within the Kinkou order. When Noxus invaded Ionia, Zed argued that their traditional pacifist stance was inadequate to repel the enemy. In a desperate bid to save his people, he sought out the forbidden art of shadow magic, which his master, Kaen, strictly forbade. This divergence led to a bitter schism; Zed killed Kaen and seized control of the Kinkou's resources, renaming the organization the Order of Shadow.

In Their Own Story

The moon hung low over the shattered ruins of an ancient temple, casting long, jagged shadows that seemed to stretch toward Zed. He stood motionless, his breathing silent, as the enemy patrol marched past him, unaware that death was already waiting in their footsteps. With a flicker of dark energy, he vanished from the moonlight and reappeared behind them, blades drawn. There was no warning cry, only the swift flash of steel and the sudden silence of men who would never draw breath again. As his shadows dissolved back into the night, Zed whispered to the wind that Ionia would survive, even if it meant he had to become a monster.

Zed is an Assassin champion from the region of Ionia, designed for high mobility and burst damage in solo queue or team fights. His kit revolves around manipulating shadows; his passive allows him to deal bonus magic damage when attacking enemies with multiple attacks, while his Q, Razor Shuriken, throws blades that pass through targets and are mimicked by his shadows. His W ability creates a living shadow clone that can be swapped with instantly, providing escape routes or follow-up attacks. The E skill, Shadow Slash, slashes an area around him, slowing enemies and reducing the cooldown if it hits a target previously struck by his Q.
